Andrea Morton

Andrea Morton, AIA, LEED AP, WBE

Andrea is the founder of aMortonDesign and a graduate of Cornell University. With over 20 years of experience guiding projects from initial design through final construction she is well-versed in the coordination and negotiation required for a successful project. Her portfolio includes a wide range of project scales and types from renovations, additions, and new construction of residential, restaurant, academic, commercial, and cultural institution projects.

As a LEED Accredited Professional, her passion for sustainability is reflected in specification of materials with high recycled content, preference for locally sourced products, and identification of energy saving and producing technologies appropriate for each project. Andrea is licensed in Massachusetts, New York, and Maine.

Sara Mallio, Designer and Passive House Consultant

Sara designs built environments with an integrated whole systems approach. She crafts innovative solutions that bring together land and building; technology and nature. With over 13 years of experience in residential and K-12 educational design, she thrives on the challenge of producing elegant, functional, and energy-efficient design solutions to difficult problems. Bringing an attention to detail and a sensitivity to the needs of the client, she executes the client’s vision in a way that enhances the functionality of the space and their enjoyment of inhabiting it.

Sara has built on her passion for sustainable design and energy efficiency by completing requirements to become a Certified Passive House Consultant.

Prior to joining aMortonDesign, Sara previously held positions with Boston-area firms Drummey, Rosanne, and Anderson Architects and Steven Holt Architects. She also served as a Board member for Littleton Community Farm from 2015 – 2017.

aMortonDesign Welcomes Sarah Walker

aMortonDesign, a Somerville-based architecture and design firm, announces the addition of Sarah Walker, AIA, LEED AP to the practice.

An architect and designer with over 15 years of experience, Sarah has worked on range of new construction and renovation projects in the residential, academic, civic, and athletic sectors. Passionate about producing innovative, sustainable, and thoughtful design solutions, she demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and brings an inventive approach to each project. Her collaborative design approach allows her to cultivate strong relationships with clients and team members resulting in functional and adaptable spaces.

Prior to joining aMortonDesign, Sarah was an Associate at ARC/ Architectural Resources Cambridge and a designer at Moshe Safdie and Associates.

“Sarah adds to the practice a depth of experience from the preliminary stages of design through the coordinated details of construction,” said founder Andrea Morton. “She has strong visual communication skills and the persistence required to take a project from concept to reality. We are excited to have Sarah join the team.”
